PRACTICE AREAS Litigation. We practice civil litigation before Federal and State Courts throughout North Carolina. Attorneys are admitted in all North Carolina District Courts and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Cases we handle include bankruptcy, creditor rights and collections, insurance claims, employment discrimination and wrongful termination, personal injury, wrongful death, property damage, products liability, transportation, construction, environmental and other commercial litigation. Criminal and domestic relations matters are accepted only in unusual circumstances. Business and Regulatory. We advise and represent corporations, partnerships and other businesses, as well as investors, in a wide range of corporate and business activities. These include the formation, merger, acquisition and liquidation of business organizations as well as the day-to-day legal issues encountered by any business such as contract negotiation, employment relations and the administration of pension and other fringe benefit programs. Business clients range from multimillion dollar corporations to small, family-owned businesses. Real Estate. We represent lenders, investors, buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants and others in commercial and residential real estate transactions in Charlotte and the surrounding area. In recent years, we have represented clients involved in a variety of commercial projects including shopping centers, office buildings and land development, as well as residential purchases, sales and refinancings. We also handle zoning matters and foreclosure proceedings. Property Management. Our property management practice includes estate planning, the preparation of wills, trust agreements and related documents, and the administration of trusts and estates as fiduciaries or as counsel to banks and individual fiduciaries. We have an active practice in incompetency and guardianship law.
